Are you in need of some serious rest and relaxation? Why not discover an ancient secret to good health, right here in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine.
Shirodara is available at my Ayurvedic practice at About Balance on Gloucester Place. It is one of my favourite treatments to deliver – especially after a full-body abhyanga. It is so lovely to see clients who come in feeling burnt out emerging from oil infused marma point bliss! If I took before and after photos I’m convinced there would be a queue around the corner and everyone would want one!
Shirodara is a really soothing treatment that creates the opportunity for deep meditation and helps to powerfully calm the body, mind and spirit. It is designed to detox the nervous system and break circulating thoughts. It is a wonderful treatment that puts the body into a state of blissful relaxation. The relaxing treatment begins with a head massage before warm oil is poured in a continuous stream on the third eye/ forehead.
Shirodara is used in Ayurvedic medicine to help treat anxiety, chronic fatigue, PTSD, stress, self-critical thoughts, migraines, eye conditions, headaches, burnout, overwhelm and to improve hair condition.
It is a good idea to keep your ears out of the wind afterwards, so be sure to bring a hat!

I can't recommend Emma highly enough. She is a great therapist. the session was amazing: I felt it worked on so many levels - physical, emotional and spiritual. Physically, I definitely felt very relaxed and and actually fell asleep during the treatment. but what made it a particularly good treatment for me was that it felt healing. Healing in the sense that I had an internal dialogue play out in my head during the treatment that helped me resolve some emotional issues that had been burdening me for some time. It goes without saying that it's not only a well trained therapist - but a person with very special qualities and attributes - that can facilitate that kind of personal experience for a client during a treatment. I felt revived and energised for days afterwards.
